Malaria Intervention Project
(2006–Present)
Supported by the Global Fund, NMCP, and ProMPT Ghana, this ongoing project combats malaria in 210 communities across the Volta and Greater Accra Regions. It has reached 55,260 people with malaria prevention and treatment education. The project has enabled 12,500 pregnant women to receive up to the fourth dose of intermittent preventive treatment in pregnancy (IPTp) before delivery. Additionally, 8,150 long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) were treated at outreach centers, and bed nets were distributed in 125 communities. These efforts have significantly contributed to reducing malaria prevalence among women and children in these regions.
Nutrition for Under-5s (2010-2015)
In partnership with Northwestern University (USA), the Strength of Women Foundation implemented a nutrition program to improve the health and growth of children under five years in Ahoe, Kodzobi, and Vodze. The initiative targeted 217 children, focusing on addressing low weight and malnutrition. Over a six-month period, 185 children achieved significant weight improvement, with 85% of participants attaining an 85% growth rate. This impactful project underscored the importance of targeted nutritional interventions in fostering healthy childhood development.
